Our story
From two old sailboats to a home in the mountains, Project Atticus has always been about committing before we feel ready and learning our way forward.
We bought our first Atticus with a distant dream and an overwhelming repair list. We learned to rebuild her, live aboard, and sail farther than we had imagined—sharing the mistakes, breakthroughs, and people who helped us along the way.
As our plans and our family changed, we moved aboard Atticus II and kept going. The boat was different, but the story stayed the same: ordinary people learning difficult things in public and building a freer life with their own hands.
Today we’re building our first family home in the mountains. Construction is the current project, but the deeper journey is still about capability, community, adaptation, and making a life that belongs to us.
We believe you don’t have to begin as an expert. You can start with a real commitment, learn from good people, tell the truth when things go wrong, and keep building toward something that matters.
